Animation Awards for DPS alumnus

“I am recently reminded of how grateful I am for all the support DPS gave me in 2021/22. At that time, I was concerned about applying for an MA course in Animation, and although it was during the pandemic, you still found many resources to help me clarify my future pathway.

I wanted to share some exciting news with you. Since completing my DPS year, I successfully applied for the MA Character Animation course at CSM. The course has given me a lot of knowledge and resources in the world of animation, as well as many opportunities to connect with the industry.

I have tried different methods and taken on different roles in the animation industry—working as a director, visual developer, and background artist. All of this started during DPS, which gave me a valuable year to figure out what I wanted to pursue in the future.

Recently, two of the animations I directed were screened at different film festivals. At the same time, I have never stopped drawing illustrations—some of my works have won awards and been exhibited. I also continue teaching and helping students build up their portfolios.”  Jan Zhou
